Home Sweet Home.
I am home, have been for a few days now, and for that reason am not posting as much as normal. This is mainly due to the maount of sleeping I have been doing, and lack of work, therefore lack of want to be arty. :P It's really nice to be home. I was hoping the weather would be much warmer, was 16 degrees last week, but just like in England a coldness has taken over. The weater says it could get up to 20 degrees this Friday, but that does all depend on which wind is blowing...
Anyhoo, no photos of home to share yet, and nothing very arty done. I did tidy the house yesterday, nothing much else to do on a Sunday... So, here is something I made a few days ago. I'm sure plenty of people have done it before, I don't think I'm the only one to think of it, but I haven't seen it anywhere before, so voila:
When I finally get around to making a little shop of Katie stuff I am thinking of putting this on jumpers, and maybe using it for a Valentines day special gift. :)

Hold on to spring
Hold on to spring, because before you know it it'll be gone! Those wonderful flowers and blossoms that make you oh so happy when you walk outside, they'll be gone. Keep a hold of them, take photos! Today I went out and took some photos if the adorable blossoms on this tree near the gym. :) They are so pretty. The above is me holding on to spring...and the below is a close up of spring. I can't wait for it to officially start tomorrow! It is one of my favourite seasons, but more of that tomorrow! :)
PS: Today I handed in an essay last minute, literally. Had to sprint to get it in on time. Never again.

The Daffodils are here! It's so pretty, in the past week the weather has gotten so much better, sun all over. It makes people so much happier, and friendly and it's so nice!! :D
I love when spring finally arrives, it makes me want to just do lots of things; walk, sit in the sun, play with friends, work, paint... :)

No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency
Last night I discovered that BBC1 is now showing the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. I watched the movie on iplayer, and thought that was it. BUT NO! To my joy they are making a series. :) It is set in Botswana, so has that lovely African feel to it, with African songs, and I love it! The opening of the movie was my favourite part...and the colours in the credits and the series are just so vibrant, happy and inspiring! I can't get enough of them. Not only does it look nice and sound nice, the plot is actually very interesting. I think I may have found my new favourite show to watch!
In the theme of Africa, I thought my photo of today should be from there. This is from my trip to South Africa last year. :) The reflections were lovely...have more pictures to come!

Photos :)
Hi! So, I have been going through the thousands of photos I have, and chose what seems like a tiny amount (compared to the total) of my favourites. I really want to share them...but don't know how. I can't really organise them, so I thought that until I run out I will try and post a photo a day. All of these photos inspire me and make me happy, so I hope they'll do the same for you. :)

Comic Relief - Rednose day!
Today is Comic Relief, a big day in the UK. It's probably one of the best nights for TV, because to get the public to give money to help the children suffering in the UK and Africa they put on some of the best shows ever! The more important fact, however, is that people donate, because as we are told so many tims through out the night these children really need the help. :) Most people do something silly for money, but I never have because I haven't lived in the UK, and now that I am...I was too busy :( BUT one year! Yes one year I will do something silly for money, but until then I will buy the rednoses, as they both make money for the kids, and are a whole lot of fun!
What did you do for Comic Relief?

Little Owl.
Yesterday I found myslef time to paint. Was so very nice. I decided enough was enough of my essay, and relaxed. It is the weekend after all. Hehe. I've had this little owl on my mind for a while. I want to make some jumpers with him on them...planning a little store, but it might take some time before I start it. I will need to plan my time much better before I do start it. HOpe you like the little fella. :)

Why can't time fly when you want it to?
I'm supposed to be writing one of two essays due in less than 2 weeks...and I've done about 300 words on one, my aim is 1000 words today and then finish it tomorrow. But, I've become a bit bored, so I thought I'd share how much I'm looking forward to spring.
I am this year missing the mountains, I never realised I would, but now that I can't go up to the mountains I miss them. It's always so pretty up there, and the feeling of spring comes so much earlier too. Even though every inch is still covered in snow, there is sun and warmth, and that feeling of happiness which spring seems to bring with it. And I'm missing that. England is a rather gloomy place, and even though we have had some sun, the only thing springy are the flowers growing outside of college. Oh man, I got so excited when we first saw the Snowdrops and little purple flowers, and since then I've been waiting for the Daffodils to bloom. It's feeling like a long wait.
So why am I wanting spring? Because it's happy, it's bright, it brings with it this feeling that you can do anything, and days just seem brighter. Have you ever felt like a sunny day just ups the mood? I'm looking forward to all the colours that come with spring, the greens, pinks, purples, yellows and blue sky! Oh I can't wait! :)
(at the same time the quicker it comes, the less time I have for these essays...hmmm..bummer!)

A not so good day...
This week I'm feeling rather un-inspirational, and un-arty...I'm feeling rather low... I think it's work, I have two essays due before the 20th of March, one on the most boring subject ever! Well talking about it's fine, doing the research is boring...Education in the market place... thrilling sounding right? And then i get 3 maths homeworks a week, and now that we are doing probability it takes me FOREVER to do them. That said I have spent quite a lot of time doing nothing, just because I was tired. I wish I felt more alive...I need spring to come, this interchanging time is just such confusing weather that I'm not sure how to feel.
On another note...since I haven't had much time for art recently I will when I feel like an arty post, be posting old photos I like, and old artwork. :) Was nice looking through some old photos. :)
PS: The photo is proof love can be found in the strangest of places.

Poppies
So I should be writing a letter pretending to be Lord Burton sending a letter to Prime Minister Churchill about 'my' aims and hopes about the stuff in the 1944 Education Act related to Religious Instruction. It's very boring, and not worth anything for my final grade...so I thought I'd do no work...well I wanted to work, but have been put off.
So I thought I'd post some pretty poppy pictures I took a while back. I was having a browse of some of my old photos and came across these, and they made me smile. :)
I love the colour of poppies against the green of the grass, the contrast is really nice. The red against the sky is also really pretty. They cheer me up.
