I love to decorate.
I bought some stickers to decorate the kitchen with a few days back. I am uber excited about using them!! :)
Essay time.
James left yesterday...it's not too difficult, I just get upset over little things like not being able to hold his hand or give him a hug...BUT I have essays to do so they can distract me, hopefully!
I have two essays for Eduction due before the end of January, one for the 7th and the other for the 20th...the one for the 20th actually counts toward my degree so I've got to make that one good. The topics are quite interesting, just hard to formulate an answer to! I often wish we could be asked the questions and then just have a discussion about it rather than having to write it out in a way that makes sense, because I'm not that great at making sense! To bore you some more I thought I might share the topics! :P (I'm basically procrastinating here...!)
So, for the 7th I am answering: 'The view that since 1945 cultural bulldozers have been at work destroying traditional British values is not only a gross over-simplification but is also patently untrue.' Discuss this statement.
It's interesting, I'm not yet entirely sure if I agree or disagree. I believe British values have changed since then, but who is to blame for it is hard to answer.
And, for the 20th (THE BIG ESSAY) I am answering: How effectively has the UK higher education system responded to ethnic diversity in contemporary society?
This ones a toughy, I think I know what they want as an answer, that it looks good at first glance but then taking a closer look they drop out, they aren't at top universities, etc. I am not looking forward to this one!
Anyone else answering any interesting questions?

A Belated Christmas.
Christmas Day. :) We got up quite late to a treasure hunt. Was quite fun, one of the clues got lost when it fell of the dogs collar...so we had an extra hunt in the garden!! :P
It was a fun day, with lots of yummy food and drink, a good game of Pictionary and some good Xmas TV. :) A lovely christmas.

In Durham
James arrived on the 25th of November! YAYS! And has been here until today... :) It was so nice seeing him again! I miss him already!!! Just another 5ish months til I visit him now! :P So...I still had uni when he first got here, so we had to stay in Durham. He got to see our awesome house there, spend more time with my friends, watch a basketball match (not the best we’ve played though), go to one of our college formals, attend a basketball social and be at our house Christmas party! We also went to Newcastle, walked all the way to B and Q (twice!) and decorated my room with wallpaper. We got up to a lot considering I had an essay to write and lectures to attend! :)
Here are some of my favourite photos from our time together in Durham:

Something that caught my eye...
If you like fashion, if you like creativity and you like raising money you will love this little project. I am in love with this woman and her idea. It's so cute and amazing and insiprational, but all for a good reason. :) In May she started The Uniform Project, wearing 1 dress for 365 days, but dressing it up differently each day, and all the money she gets donated will go to help children in India get an education. LOVE HER!!!
If you want to see her amazing creativity I think you should see the site.

A walk in the dark. :)
Yesterday our advent calander told us to go for a walk, so I decided we should do it at night, so that I could take photos of the pretty lights...selfish I know. :P It was nice, and a tad weird, cuz the shops were still open...and shops close at 5:30 here...so it wasn't late, but it was dark! I always find it weird when it's dark so early...
Anyways here are some photos from the walk. :)
Today I have to finish an essay, 10% done already, and then we ned to buy some viennese truffles, because thats what the advent calander says. :) Yays! :D

A birthday...
I really need to start keeping on top of things...I think I might make it a New Years resolution. It's not that I have much to do, I just don't do it. Hehe. :)
So, a few weeks back was Sasha's birthday and we made her a yummy meal (we I mean, I decorated and Adrienne and Miriam cooked yummy food), so i thought I'd share some photos...there aren't many although I took a lot, and none of the food...sorry...a bit lazy I am :P
:D I promise that next year I will keep things more up to date!

ARGH!
I hate ERM, so much. I actually hate writting an essay for it more. Learning about research methods isn't that bad, but having to write about what constitutes as evidence in social sciences, and how researches differentiate between good and bad research suing only 2-3 specific examples of research seems both silly and difficult to do, especially since I still don't understand exactly what it means. Tried all weekend (well tried not to do anything yesterday) to work on it, but got to a point of frustration where I couldn't look at it with out wanting to scream...yeah work gets to me like that.
I've decided I find it hard because I like rights and wrongs. Had an interesting revelation in another Education lecture, that people think differently. I knew they thought differently, but that there is an actual difference between sciency people and arts people. Sciencey people like right and wrong answers, they like things to make sense, to have set answers, something you can figure out. But art students (not as in visual art but history, english etc.) like wishy washy stuff, things that are unclear, things that don't have a right or wrong...I just don't understand it...which may be why I don't like this question, because I don't know what is wanted so I can't even try and get it close to right, whereas others can just plod along happy with their maybe right answer.
The essay problem isn't being helped by the fact that we lost to some bullies in basketball last night. They were three times our size, built like men, and just pushed us around, AND cheated. They only won by 2 baskets, but it's still not nice leaving a match like that...
I'll drink lots of tea and eat lots of biscuits and watch the X factor results tonight, and maybe I will be happy then. :)
