Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you have a lovely, warm and happiness filled day (or for those in different time zones, have had a lovely day!). Some cozy photos of our decorations up here. :)

Santa Claus is Coming to Town
I forget how tiring Geneva can be. I get up, go out for lunch, look around loads of shops and then home in a totally tired state. I missed talking to James today. :( BUT he will be here soon, so I am telling myself it's ok. :)
I forgot how much I love Globus and it's home section. I forgot they have like my dream dining room, and eee, they had it all decorated for Christmas and I still love it. Thinking I will definitely have to do my dining room like that. James, we are visiting Globus! k?
Anyways, on to todays song. "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" by Various people. Hehe. Santa will be on his way soon! :D I love Christmas.

This Christmas
A lovely song from Ally McBeal. "This Christmas" sung by Vonda Shepard.
I will update with my travel story soon, been busy doing Geneva things like shopping! :P But some time!!

Yesterdays Advent
I have had a nightmare of a trip home...totalling in 49 hours of travelling from Saturday to today. Planes, trains...all sorts...not ready to write about the whole experience now, but I think it is rather interesting to tell so will get round to it eventually. :)
So, due to all that I missed my advent from yesterday. So here is the Sunday churchy feeling advent song, "Oh Tannenbaum" :D

I'll be Home for Christmas
I go home today. Eee...actually eeek! Really need to finish packing and sorting out the house! :P I thought the song "I'll be home for Christmas" would be a good song for today given the circumstances (the title works, the words in the song will only apply if there is a freak amount of snow between now and this afternoon), however I could not find the version on my itunes...it's by "various artists", so annoying. So I found another version. It's not as good, but it's still nice. :)
So today, "I'll be home for Christmas" by Rascal Flatts.
I Wish It Could be Christmas Everyday
Well, not really. Last Christmas yes, because James was here. But if we could continue with life as normalish but have lots of decorations and happiness then sure, everyday. :) Hehe. Todays song is 'I wish it could be Christmas everyday' by Wizzard. :D A very christmassy song.
I need to pack! Gar! :P Home tomorrow. :)

Here Comes Santa Claus
I am all on my lonesome now. BUT will be home soon so pffff. :D It has tried to snow/it is snowing but right now not as strong as like 5 mins ago. Hehe. I do hope the snow stops and goes away so that I can get to the train station, and get a train! Fingers crossed!
Todays advent song is 'Here Comes Santa Claus' by Gene Autry. The video is pretty cool, would be annoying to live next to, but I don't so I think it's cool. :) Enjoy!
Christmas Time
Another advent song! Yay! Today's is 'Christmas Time' by The Darkness. :) I wonder what happened to that group...they kind of disappeared. Only remembered the song after watching the biggest selling Christmas number 1's...or something of that sort. :P
Term is over! Yay!! Time to tidy, work and pack! :)

Christmas Lights
Todays song is a new song. I heard it yesterday, it's very pretty and so is the music video. I love arty, cute music videos, they make a song a whole lot better. :) Todays song is 'Christmas Lights' by Coldplay.
It's so pretty! :)

Some snowflakes
All I Want for Christmas is You
Another Love Actually song...should probably watch the movie again, it is a nice movie. Hehe. I took photos of some of the snowflakes I made for the Xmas party, so hopefully if I get round to it will put them up here.
Today's song is 'All I want for Christmas is you' from Love Actually. :)
3 more days of lectures, and then the holidays. Yay!
Oh Come All Ye Faithful
We went to the carol service in the Cathedral on Monday. It was really lovely (expect the readers...who all read as if there was a full stop after every other word, and the Reverend who tried to be way to chummy and kept telling us we didn't understand the meaning of Christmas if we didn't think it was the best thing to ever happen to us). The singing was a lot of fun though. There were quite a few songs I knew...quite a few I had on itunes. hehe. Anyhoo, the last song we sang was 'Oh come all ye faithful', I find it very singable. :P So, since it is a lovely churchy song and it is a Sunday my advent song for today will be 'Oh come all ye faithful' sung by Celine Dion (not the version I have on itunes, but we have it at home). :) Enjoy.

Do they Know it's Christmas?
I have been working! Well...it feels like work. I have been typing up my lecture notes from this term so I don't have to lug a whole bung of notebooks home with me. :) Also makes it much easier to cut and paste into essays :P I think I've done 2 modules so far...I've not really been very organised with it. Hehe, but it feels productive. I also let myself sleep. I have been so tired recently, HUGE bags under my eyes. Ick! Anyhoo...song for today!
Todays song is the original (and best) version of " Do They Know it's Christmas" by Band Aid. :)
We had a Christmas party on Thursday evening...unfortunately I left my camera upstairs. it was fun though. Salmon pate went down very well (thanks for the recipe!) and oh my gosh the food was so yum: mulled wine, champagne, christmassy soup, turkey, mash, honey roasted parsnips, cinnamon buns, mince pies....gar mouth watering! We had the Christmas tree up with Secret Santa presents underneath too, and made paper snowflakes which we hung from the ceiling. I should really have take photos! I took some of the food with Adrienne's camera...so might steal them when they go up on facebook! Was lovely. :)

Happy Xmas (War is over)
Todays song had lots of sad music videos to go with it, but I didn't want to share them, even though they fit very well with the songs lyrics. So "Happy Xmas (war is over)" by John Lennon. Enjoy.
Schnappt euch den Nicki Kraus
The scary song. It has a really catchy tune...probably more catch when you know the words to say...:P But the German version is just so much cooler and more wicked than the English version. :) Hehe. So here is "Kidnapping Sandy Claws" or in German "Schnappt euch den Nicki Kraus" from the Nightmare before Christmas.

What's this??
A truly amazing movie. :) Warms me inside. I think tomorrow I will share a rather scary version of a song from this movie. :D But for today we have 'What's this?' from The Nightmare before Christmas.
Enjoy!

Run run rudolph
I think this week may turn into movie and tv show week...or just these two days, we'll see what song I feel like tomorrow. My youtubing skills are not the best so I found a black screen with the song, no image, which is a shame because the performance really adds to this song. If you have seen Ally McBeal and are familiar with the characters, imaging Elaine singing in all her singing glory and John and Richard dressed up as topless reindeer as her dancers. :) Enjoy!

Christmas is all around us
I have been having trouble finding the songs I want on youtube...and the remembered there are Christmassy movies, with Christmas songs in them! Expect a few of them this advent! Today your advent song is 'Christmas is all around us' from Love Actually (based on Love is all around us by Wet Wet Wet). :)
I think I need to start sleeping earlier. I don't really want to sleep at night, but then don't want to get up in the morning, oh the dilemmas I have! I have lectures this week too, quite a few to replace the ones I missed last week. It's going to get hectic! I think I need to buy myself some proper lunch food as well...Tesco has been totally sold out of bread last few times I've been, so I don't really know what I've been doing for lunch...but I'm alive!
Time to do something...like avoid work. Yay! :)

Away in a Manger
It's Sunday, and I don't know why but I feel that my Sunday advent songs should feel somewhat "churchy". I like Church around Christmas time, it's a very comfortable and warming place to be; it feels calm. That is what this song feels like. :)
'Away in a Manger' sung by King's College Choir, Cambridge.

Merry Xmas Everybody
Todays song is 'Merry Xmas Everybody' by Slade. :)
Now off to do some work...yay!

Last Christmas.
It's beautiful and sunny outside, with snow covering the trees and ground. My favourite kind of weather. Unfortunately it's allegedly -11 degrees outside! Eeek! I'm sure it's not, but it is a scary thought. Hehe.
I apologise for no dress photo yesterday, it being cold and snowy dresses seem a bit impractical. I also do not have any new photos of snow, perhaps today I will take my camera out with me. Our Christmas formal was cancelled due to the snow (MEGA :( ) but it has saved me some money AND we got to watch the Mentalist replay (we always forget to watch it on Friday, and then are busy on Thursdays...).
Todays Advent Song is 'Last Christmas' by Wham. When I hear the song I tend to think about being in a slightly chilly car driving to Kinoulton to visit friends. We probably only did that once around Christmas time, but the memory of it with the song playing and us singing along is always there. :P It is quite interesting how songs and movies and certain things can spark these little memories. :)
There was a much better version on youtube, but the embedded link had been deactivated. Poo.

Let it Snow
Second day of advent. Mmm. I bought the house a Throntons Advent Calendar each, they are so yum. :) It's still snowing every now and then, I do wish we could start the holidays now, I would probably get more work done that way...but oh well.
Today's advent song is 'Let it Snow' by Dean Martin.

Advent!
It's the start of advent! Eee. To count down I am going to try share a Christmas song each day, to get everyone into the happy festive spirit. Christmas is one of my favourite times of year, it's so happy and warm and :D.
To fit in with the freakishly, yet wonderfully, large amount of snow we've had this past week I think 'White Christmas' by Bing Crosby is a good start. :)
We're all getting advent calendars today, exciting! :D

Where is it coming from?
Theres more snow today. It's been either sunny or snowing heavily. Some lectures have been cancelled, some stores are closed. It's quite nice. I was one of the lucky students whose lecture was cancelled today so have been having quite a relaxed day. I needed some groceries, so used it as an excuse to go out and take some photos. Here are my favourites...notice the weather changed quite a bit whilst I was out!
(I snuck into Castle for the snowman photo...I feel sneaky going inside, we're probably allowed but was still thrilling!)

I do love Kookai
They recently, as in the past 10mins, put this gorgeous jumper up on their Facebook page (yes I follow them on Facebook, there clothes are just so me ok?) and gar, I want it. Why do all their clothes have to be so lovely looking? I love all their stuff, I know certain items won't suit me, but I still love the look...it's probably really unhealthy for me to stalk them so much, plus their opening a UK online store soon...hopefully I won't give in to internet shopping.
Time to go face the snow to buy some food. Lectures have been cancelled for the first time in my 2/3 years here, snow is deep! Am taking my camera. :D
Toodles.

Weathers ups and downs.
Our walk to "basketball"...
The boys had a match at 16:00 and we wanted to go support them. I had contacted Team Durham to check matches weren't cancelled due to the snow and they said they hadn't so we headed of at 15:30. Our little adventure:
I love the houses along Claypath, they are so mismatch and colourful. :) Looks even prettier with snow on the roofs. The sky was really pretty behind the Cathedral too, I do love Durham. :)
Around this part of the walk we got calls to say that the matches had been cancelled because Maiden Castle has closed so it's staff could get home safely. Yay, night in with X factor. Good times, so we enjoyed out little walk and took some more photos. :)
Cathedral again, so pretty, eee. :)
And then Adrienne made her very first Snow Angel. YAY! Hehe, she's so cute!
And then off to home.
