First day back

Day 14 - Yes, I am a bit odd.

So I'm back in Durham. I always seem to get headaches when I get back...it's weird. And I have decided I should not ever have a job that involves travelling, because it seems to take me a while to settle down into a routine again. I don't like new beds and showers etc. Takes me time to adjust. This means I got like no work done today, when I planned to do all my research today! Oops! Oh well.

I've decided on a kinda routine for this term that I will start on Monday. I should be in bed by 10 or 10:30. I should not drink tea after 8, it will keep me up. I will not allow myself on any 'fun' websites until after 7 on a weekday. That means I have to work or read or something in those times. Which is good. And I should be more awake and hopefully calm. :) I like a bit of routine too, but occasionally like to have a day where I break free, we'll see.

Day 13

I didn't do much today. Woke up, checked flights, showered, finished packing and off to the airport. We got there around 13:00 and my flight was supposed to leave at 15:40. So we had a nice lunch, except the dude serving us wouldn't look at us, and ignored us, and liked the people behind us, and never asked if we wanted dessert, and we wanted the yummy looking dessert BUT it was getting late and he had ignored us for too long so we left. It was about 14:40 so I said bye and went through the security people. First, what the hell has happened to the airport? It was soooooo different! like weird, like I didn't know where I was. Second, stupid flight was delayed 2 hours. Poo. So I sat and read, and read some more, and some more. Then we were told a gate, so went to the gate, and read. Then got on the plane...and flew. The view was relly pretty, but hard to take a photo of, so you get the bad photo up there for today! YAY! Yeah, then I came home to an empty house, order chinese and watched TV. Not really that much done!

Exhausted.

Day 12

I am so tired. I took a nap, still tired. I haven't even done much. I just feel exhausted. I wish I didn't because then I could do some work...but it just feels even more exhausting thinking about haing to look up policies on ethnic diversity in Higher Education. It's tiring just saying it!

My parents are playing darts tonight, and I wanted to go out with them because it's my last night. I so hope I start to feel more awake!

Did some more shopping...will talk about it in a happier, excited mood. Off to have some tea!

Day 11

Haha..yes. I did not know what to do for a photo today. I went shopping and FORGOT MY CAMERA! How annoying! So took a photo at home of random ol' me. I seem to have a need of putting my hand up when posing for the camera...weird I know.

Was not the most eventful of days today. One of my calves (is that the right spelling? makes me think of a baby cow...PS: My spelling sucks) hurt from skiiing, and then I manaaged to SHUT THE CAR DOOR ON IT! Brains or what? So now it hurts more! Yippee...
Being in the car meant a drive to a shop! Score! Leroy Merlin. Oh yes, a DIY shop. I love those places, especially the lights and decorations and displays...ah! the dreams!
After that I introduced my mum to the hilarious Kevin Rudd videos done by Rove, they are on youtube. Look them up!!! Then I did some clothes shopping. Both tops worn above are a result of that. I also got two pairs of shorts (I know shorts...in the middle of the worst winter in a while...but ya know it'll warm up eventually!), another nice top and a SEQUIN JACKET!!! I am excited about that last one!

Yeah thats pretty much my day. I leave on Weds, so planning on packing and washing tomorrow AFTER spending money on more awesomenesses! I shop to ease the pain of leaving! Ha!

Day 10

Today started off looking very pretty! See look above. SO pretty, very nice, sunny, warm looking. BUT DO NOT BE FOOLED! It was freeeeeeezing!!! So cold! I froze myself to the point of feeling ill when we went out skiiing. My hands were almost as pink and my nail varnish, and I couldn't feel my toes, and i could hardly talk properly from my face being so frozen! eeek! It was pretty though!
I took comfort and warmth in our little Chalet. I love our Chalet. It's so pretty and cute and warm. :) I worked on my essay whilst nice and cozy. Wrote about 1000words, it's supposed to be 1500, and I still want to add quotes and a conclusion, so I'm feeling like I had a productive day. :)

Whilst I was working away my dad was outside waiting for a dog race to go past. Hehe. A husky race went right by our Chalet. SO cool! I oculd only see the people making the huskies run from where I was sitting inside but my dad took my camera and took some nice pictures, here is my favourite:
:) We came home after they all had gone past. School starts for Sarah tomorrow. I don't start til the week after. I like to remind her of that. I am a lovely sister!
There has been more snow down here, I'd say around 15 to 20cm. Which in the UK would stop anything from working, so it's quite a lot really! :P

Off to have some Dominos Pizza and watch some Sunday TV with the family. :)

It was quite cloudy up here. I think we were literally in the cloud, so there wasn't much potential for the normal glorious mountain pictures. If tomorrow is like this too then I may have to wait until easter for them! Which is a shame. I love mountain photos! I love snow photos! I love snow! I like both these pictures, but decided since the rest of my 365 project are landscape I should keep it that way, but I could be easily persuaded to change. Hehe! I took them both today, almost froze my little hands of taking them! Brrrrr!

So you heard about the weather in the UK?

If you haven't then you've been missing out on some funny stuff! The snow is DEEP, hehe, by British standards and hard for them to cope with. Roads are blocked, planes can't fly, schools are closed! It may possibly be getting bad now because the rest of Europe, who are used to lots of snow, are starting to have a few problems. We haven't hit any yet though. :) I thought it was noce to see the British enjoy themselves in what appears to be a horrible winter! Here are some awesome photos, credit here.

My Day 8. :) I thought it was the most interesting of the photos. I dunno why I was just drawn to it more. Asking a question always makes an answer more clear to me. Does anyone else have the same? Asking makes you realise what you want people to say, therefore what you want. I'm sure it anoys others that I usually have an opinion when I ask a question, but oh well!!

So, photo 8. It's the view from my window looking down. You can just make out the difference between the roof and the ground. :) Snow is so magical!

I took quite a few photos today in my rather uneventful day. Now I can't choose which one should be my Day 8 of 365...Such a toughy...any help please?

Day 7

I didn't have many good photos from yesterday because my camera died early on, and I was too lazy to charge it! So I put together the photos from shopping. It's like three in one, but it's still a photo! Yays!! I ended up buying the dress but not the top. I want to wear dresses a little more than normal...which won't be hard since I never wore them! Hehe.

Got more work to do today. Still working on the British values question. I want it done by the end of this week, so that I have a week to do the essay that actually counts towards my degree! Eeek! But we're going up to the mountains this weekend, and I haven't skied yet this whole holiday so I would really like to ski! We'll see!

Oh poop!

My camera battery died...so I can't upload photos until it's charged again. And it died just before we went out to play darts! So I have no photos from that, although I think I probably would have been a bit too shy to take photos (it was with my parents friends).

I had a relatively good day though. I tried to do my essay...but got frustrated with the whole what is Britain thing, and just not knowing enough about it. So I went shopping, of course!! Hehe, I got a dress and a skirt! A shock because I usually wear trousers, although after trying on numerous dresses I think I know why I prefer trousers! I then got some roasted chestnuts in town...mmmm. I had a headache the whole way through all of this which made it all not as much fun as it sounds now (headache is gone!!!).
Then went out to darts. My parents are part of the Geneva Fun League. They had a christmas holiday and start again next week, so tonight was a little practice. This means meal, beer and game. They play at a local pub, it's quite nice, it has a downstairs room for them so it's very personal. Me, my mum and two of the wives (good friends of my mums) sat around chatting most of the time. Twas nice to get a bit of girly time, not had much this holiday!

So photo for today will come tomorrow. I promise it was taken today I just can't load it! :) I really don't want to cheat on this porject and take a photo from a few years ago or something, it's not the point! So even if all my photos from today are ugly I will have to settle with one of them, because it's all I have!! Hehe.

Lots of work to do tomorrow. So maybe it's time for bed! Night!!

This is me trying to touch my toes...seriously as far as I can go. Shhhh...don't say anything, I know i am unflexible. BUT give me a few beers and I have proven I can do it then! I liked the colours and clothes I was wearing today. Slouchy. :D It's nice to be slouchy occasionally.

Day to relax.

Today I spent the day relatively relaxed. :D Went shopping in the morning and bought some more wall stickers. YAYS! Which say "Home sweet home". Hehe. And then I sat around chatting to my mum, making lunch and having tea. And then we went into town and I bought some cushions for my bed in Durham. Not done much else. I do have a photo for today it will come later.

I need to get more interesting. Hehe. I will promise!

It snowed today!!! :D I love the snow, snow is pretty, snow is cool. Guests got back from the mountains today, so I'm not alone at home with Sarah anymore. It's a nice change. :) Very pretty snow. Hehe. I tried doing more reading today, but that didn't work very well. So instead we sat around on our laptops making fun of each other! AH! The memories of good old times!

Day 3

Today I have done little more than work. I got up late...yay to sleeping in! I've not really had any time to truely catch up on sleep and get some alone time this holiday, so it was kinda nice. I then rearranged my farm on Farmville...yes I am awesome. Then it was work work work. I managed to spend a good few hours readin 15 pages about the English Identity set in a British context. It wasn't the most fun I've ever had, was actually quite harsh but real. I'm still not sure if I understand the whole national characteristics stuff, I still think it's a lot like stereotyping. Maybe I can just argue that. Hehe. We'll see.

The above photo is my photo numero 3. I'm not too happy with it, but considering I am bored/not overwhelmingly happy because of the reading it'll do. 365 amazing photos in a row is just not human!

The first step.

I was reading the blogs of a few inspiring people, people who make me want to paint more, have fun more and do what I love. Most of these people have done a lot with their lives, they are making and selling their own things or they have families, or they travel a lot, etc. They seem to be doing something with their lives, and they all seem to be in their twenties. I turn twenty this year, which seems a bit odd. I don't feel old enough yet...I don't feel ready. Especially not when I look at what these people have done, but I want to be ready and I want to do stuff! I just find it hard. I don't know how you can go to university AND do all sorts of fun creative stuff...I'm exhausted enough with uni! BUT I want to change that, I want to start something new, set up a little online shop, or just share all sorts of pretty art. :)

Sometimes I wish I didn't need university, but it's a nice thing to have done if your dreams fail...

Welcome to 2010!!

Happy New Year everyone!!!! I am hoping this year will be an awesome year! It's the first time I have ever made some real resolutions and I'm planning to stick to them!!! Here are my resolutions:

I've not been doing too bad at starting my list, although I do know I have a whole year in which to do it, there are some things I needed to get started on right away. I've sent out e-mails to try and get tutoring and help people with learning disorders. I've already taken picture 1, and e-mailed James! And I am drinking water! I am very excited! This is the year, I have a few small things I want to do, but I'm not sure they are worthy of being on the list. Hehe. What are your resolutions?
