What Happened? Bandages
These plasters are pretty awesome, I wouldn't mind having these for any cuts I get. Hehe, I especially like the What Happened? ones. :) Awesomeness.

Summer?

The remains of the hail in the back garden.
Today James and I went to the Plaza to get me some clothes. My new possible job has an all black dress code, not too tight or short, got to look presentable, etc. etc. and I didn't have anything black (I know, I was surprised too). Since I have a sort of trial run tomorrow I thought it would be best to turn up well presented and dressed to the dress code, so we went out to get a black outfit. The shopping was a success, I look like I should be working in a restaurant or a childcare centre in my little outfit. BUT whilst we were shopping there was a HUGE storm. It started got super bad just as we were deciding what to get for lunch, with the lights in the shopping centre all switching off for about 30seconds, and thus all the machinery not working afterwards. So it took a while for us to get a meal, since tills weren't opening, but we got something. In the mean time there was some MASSIVE thunder, I jumped, quite a bit. It was LOUD. The rain just got heavier and heavier. James got a call from his mum saying it was actually hail and telling him not to drive until it calms down. So we wondered around the stores some more. It most definitely was hail, you could hear it everywhere you went. It was so heavy the roof was actually leaking. It was pretty cool.
It eventually calmed down and we left. The drive home was quite interesting. There was one HUGE 'puddle' (it as kind of too big to call a puddle) that we had to drive through, and some of the trees we drove past had been knocked over by the storm. It definitely didn't look like summer.
The view out of the car as we drove through the 'puddle'
The view out the front from in the 'puddle'
Poor tree.
This isn't a very happy, pretty post, but it was a pretty awesome storm. It supposed to be similar weather the next few days. Yays! :P I wonder when I'm going to experience the "Australian summer" I've heard about!

Advent wish list #11

Kookai Australia.
I love this whole outfit. It looks cool, fun and comfy, plus it's colourful! I'd love an outfit like that, it doesn't have to be that exact one (I think the thigh pockets would make my already large thighs look even bigger) but those colours, that top. :) Oh I love dreaming of clothes!

Advent wish list #10

Beauty and the Beast. I love this movie. I love the lessons it teaches. I love the songs. So I would love to add it to my eventual Disney collection. So much love for Disney.

Advent wish list #9

Big black bow headband
I have a weird love for Ban.do. I love their things, but I would only want to possess very few of them. Two of their hair accessories I absolutely love are the big black bow headband and the gift bow clip. I also think both would be absolutely perfect for a Christmas outfit. :) Neither of them are that expensive either...definite teasers... :P
Gift bow
Oh man, I have totally tempted myself into wanting to buy them again...

Christmas Tree

Tree is up!
It's not been feeling a whole lot like Christmas in Australia. It may to Australians, but as someone who is used to long dark nights lit by fires and Christmas lights, the long summer evenings and bright days not lit by fires and lights are somewhat un-christmassy. But this evening it got feeling a bit more like Christmas as we set up the Christmas trees....yes, trees. One proper tree and one for all the Santa ornaments James' family have collected. I don't have a good photo of the Santa tree yet, so you'll have to wait for that awesomeness. :P But I do have the other beautifully decorated tree.
I do love decorating for Christmas. :) I put on my Christmas playlist as we decorated, it was nice. :)

Advent wish list #8

It's already the 8th? Gosh time is flying! We really need to start getting ready for Christmas too! :P So, todays totally awesome thing I would love to have is a cushion, or 3 cushions to be exact. 3 cushions that go very nicely together. Cushions perfect for a sofa that belongs to me and James. K&J. J&K...whichever way you like it.
More from Jonathan Adler, man his stuff is awesome. There are still 4 more cushions of his I'd love to possess, and quite a few vases too! And Salt and Pepper shakers...but I've already shared the awesomeness of his Salt and Pepper shakers. So yes, some day I would like to own some cushions like these to decorate our little sofa (that does not yet exist). Some day.

Outfit love

I currently have an outfit stuck in my head that I absolutely love, and want to share, because I do love it so. It's quite summery, as it's quite summery here in Australia (despite the fact that I've been able to wear trousers the last couple of days and have even needed a jacket on the odd occasion, it is sunny).
Beaded Bib Tank from Anthropology.
Pink trousers from Sass & Bide.
Silver sequinned Cordones from Toms.

I'm really starting to love colour, especially a certain shade of pink, the shade of the trousers to be precise. I'm becoming obsessed with pink, pink and teal...mmmm, beautiful colours! Anyways, the outfit. :)

I'm also totally obsessed with the shoes, been dreaming up outfits for them for the last week. I'm getting dangerously close to actually buying them...wouldn't they be perfect to wear on Christmas day?

Advent wish list #7

Could I please get Adobe Creative Suite or Adobe Photoshop? I miss editing my photos properly. I miss being able to colour my art in Photoshop. I miss the creativity that came with owning Adobe stuff.

I will totally be saving up for this. Although, once I own one of the above I have a feeling all my time shall be spent at the computer...

To Do takeover

Watching Will play touch Rugby.
I'm To Do-ing. It's making me feel good. So far I am feeling very accomplished! :P

Todays To Do were:
-Watch Midnight in Paris. I so recommend you see it if you don't. it's got me wanting to move to Paris, and have a wonderfully arty life. I will settle with a wonderfully arty life if I can't move to Paris, but gosh  it makes me want to live dreams and not get sucked into the mundane routine that seems to be what society forces us into.
-Visit Kikki.k. I got gifted a voucher for there (yays!), so I am carefully choosing how to spend it. Man I love that shop.
-shower.
-blog (3 times in a day? Thats what not having a job does for you!)
-phone bank
-work on guest posts for Tripping.com (seriously, check them out!)
-Go to a quiz

Working on blog posts - I'm putting a lot of effort in.
So far I've done all but the quiz, which I shall soon be getting ready for. It's been a pretty swell day. :) Lets hope tomorrow is just as awesome!

(Foot photos last week were awful...I sucked at taking photos, but as you can see I have two this week, and I'm happy with them so far!)

Advent wish list #6

Electric Garden (pink)
COZAMIA artwork! I don't quite remember how I came across her stuff, but it is beautiful! I love the colours, and everything else about her work. I would definitely love to have one of her pieces in my eventual home. My favourite three are the ones shown in the post. I can't explain why I like these three so much, I just find them super attractive, I could stare at them for quite some time...and I think thats a sign of good artwork. :)
Wild Herringbone in Pink
Adaeze (in Taupe)
The artist, Nancy, also has a super cute and inspiring blog I think you should maybe check out. I've spent far too long going through it...you can find it here.

Quote to Inspire #14

Photo by me, quote Audrey Hepburn.

My good friend the To Do list

Flowers outside the house.
So I've been feeling a bit not at home. I think it's mainly to do with it being summer, it not feeling like Christmas and me not really having any space to call my own. So, what is a girl to do? Make a To Do list. I love my To Do lists, they make me feel like I'm doing something, and like I have direction in my day.

What I've done:
-made morning tea
-done a crossword (added bonus I also did a Sudoku)
-printed out some CVs
-Looked around the Plaza for jobs I may like (didn't see any, may have to settle with a job rather than one I'll enjoy...we'll see)
-emptied and loaded dishwasher
-visited bank
-been for a walk
-blogged

Still to do:
-swim
-shower
-tidy bedroom
-take some photos (I'm doing pretty bad at taking photos, not yet comfortable being a photo nut in front of James' family yet)
-make a list of Christmassy to do's, so that it starts to feel Christmassy. :)

Sounds good to me. :) Feeling much better today. :D

Advent wish list #5

Brass moustache bottle opener, found here.
Jonathan Adler seriously makes awesome things! Expect a couple more posts of his stuff in my wish list, he makes awesomeness! My first two objects of desire are the lovely moustache bottle opener above (because everyone needs a bottle opener, and I love moustaches) and the cool stripy salt and pepper shakers below (because I am currently loving black and white patterned house things). Ah, the love!
Stripe Salt and Pepper Shakers, found here.
If you could have anything from his website, what would it be?

101 Dreams - Dream 12

One of my drawings from an IB project of mine (I know there's a lot of rain...)
Dream 12 - Illustrate a children's book. I'm not sure I could write one, but I would definitely enjoy drawing one. When I was younger I used to LOVE Jacqueline Wilson books, and one of my favourite things about them was the illustrations by Nick Sharratt (he was like my favourite person in the world for quite some time). He visited our Primary school to promote some books when I was about 12, and we managed to arrange for me to see him since I loved his drawings so much. It was pretty awesome, I remember being pretty excited he liked my drawings! (although he did share some he did when he was younger...they were way better than mine!) So I would love to be an illustrator like him, it's sort of been a sideline dream career for a while. :)

So if anyone has written a children's book and would like an illustrator, let me know! :D

Advent wish list #4

Kookai Australia - Moonlight skirt.
There are a couple of things from the Australian Kookai that I would be happy to receive as a gift for Christmas, the skirt above is definitely one of them. Gorgeous! I think it could be lovely in the summer and winter, and dressed up or down. I love it. Yup I would definitely be happy with that as a gift. :)

Advent wish list #3

Aristocats. I have said I want to collect Disney movies, so there are a couple I'd be more than happy to get for Christmas, one of which is Aristocats. :)

Little visitor

Will found a pretty awesome looking bug outside. Apparently no-one had seen it before, so I did some research and this little guy is a Fiddler Beetle, and he's pretty groovy. :)
We decided his face looks a bit like a pig. :P

Advent wish list #2

Gingerbread man from Shrek (found at weheartit, com)
I would be more than happy for someone to take some time out of their day to make these with me, listen to some Xmas music and drink hot chocolate/chocolate milkshakes. :) We could chat, and sing, and laugh and have an awesome time...and then eat them when done. :D Preparing for Christmas is almost as wonderful as Christmas is itself.

Advent wish list #1

Red canvas Toms.
So, I'm pretty bad at telling people what I want as a present...I don't know why, I think it's something to do with not wanting people to have to spend money on me, and knowing I have a very specific taste and a somewhat expensive taste. I am much fonder of giving presents than I am of receiving. But for those few people that keep asking I thought I'd do an Advent wish list, each day sharing something I am currently lusting after. It's not to say you have to get me these things exactly, but I suppose it helps you to know where my head is at the moment...which is pretty much all over the place! :P

My first Advent wish list item is Toms. Through my internet blog following I've heard quite a lot of nice things about these shoes. I'm not quite sure if I love them, they aren't like super cute, but they do look super comfy, and I'm in Australia now, I can get away with super comfy and less super cute (plus I could probably make them look awesome paired up with the right things...:P). Also, for every pair of shoes bought a pair is donated to children without shoes, so gifting a pair of Toms is like a double gift...you may feel twice as good. So, yeah, here are some I like (I noticed they are blacks and reds...I think thats Christmas' effect, I do like most of the colours...but if you know me you'll know which I like more.) :)
Charcoal canvas Toms.
Red cordones.
Black sequinned Toms.
(The cordones look the cutest)
