Dreaming up an outfit

Every now and then I see something online, or in a shop, that sparks all sorts of outfit planning in my head. Generally these outfit plans revolve around the piece I've seen and usually only one item I have in my wardrobe...it's not the best plan for money saving, but then I rarely end up buying all the components for my make believe outfits, so it doesn't hurt me to dream! :) Todays outfit day dream revolves around TOMS new Zebra shoes and some green trousers I already have (which in my head can also be replaced with my red, maroon and blue trousers for different effects). Here's my daydreaming:

Gold Worlds Links Necklace from uncommongoods. I fell in love with this necklace the moment I saw it. It's gorgeous, I love the world, and this just makes me want to travel! 

Lace Back T-shirt from Kookai EU. I tried this on in the shop whilst shopping with my Mum and sister, we weren't convinced it was worth 80CHF, but it sure is pretty and fit ever so comfortably, and this outfit is all about comfort. 

Green trousers, these are from River Island, but mine are from Emerson in Big W.  I think neutrals look nicer near my face, so I love coloured trousers for adding colour to my wardrobe. :) 

Finally, the Zebra shoes from TOMS. Aren't they cool? I think so. :)

So there you go, the little outfit occupying my mind at the moment. I can totally see myself wearing this in South Africa, or Australia. :)

With my work outfits having to be made up of black clothes I have been liking all things neutral. I also like neutrals because they make me feel calm, and calm makes me happy. :) So here is my collection of some of the neutral clothes I am loving at the moment. :)

Kookai Australia

So, if you know me well, you'll know that I LOVE Kookai. They just make such lovely clothes. Since we are coming up to the beginning of Spring/Autumn (depending on where in the world you are) I am following the slow release of the new collections in both the UK/France Kookai and the Australian Kookai, and man am I loving some of the stuff I'm seeing. The European Kookai's often have several different themes for their collections, and they seem to quite consistently have a Safari like theme every season. I do love Safari like clothes. I am happiest with my wardrobe whenever we are in South Africa, so I am always happy to see Safari like items in collections. The Australian Kookai seems to be going for a Paris look this Autumn, which I am also quite fond of. This new collection has one item in particular which fits nicely into Safari and Paris, so I am super in love with it. It is also super beautiful and a kind of timeless piece. The beautiful suede vest jacket above...oh the love! I am going to have to save up some of my money to buy this when it comes out in the shops.

Gorgeous skirt from the Australian Kookai.

I love this skirt! And the top! The whole outfit is gorgeous! I don't know if I'd wear it in Australia...my dressing has gone very casual...but maybe a beautiful outfit like this is just what I need to start dressing all lovely again! :P

Kookai Australia.

I love this whole outfit. It looks cool, fun and comfy, plus it's colourful! I'd love an outfit like that, it doesn't have to be that exact one (I think the thigh pockets would make my already large thighs look even bigger) but those colours, that top. :) Oh I love dreaming of clothes!

Kookai Australia - Moonlight skirt.

There are a couple of things from the Australian Kookai that I would be happy to receive as a gift for Christmas, the skirt above is definitely one of them. Gorgeous! I think it could be lovely in the summer and winter, and dressed up or down. I love it. Yup I would definitely be happy with that as a gift. :)

What I am wearing today.

I got dressed this morning, and must say really like my outfit. But then I browsed the internet and looked at Zara's People section, and thought about how most of these people wear outfits entirely supplied by Zara...and then I looked at my outfit. Everything apart from the tights is from Kookai, the shorts, the top, the cardigan, the necklace...

What can I say? I like their clothes. :)

Kookai Spring/Summer

Kookai's Spring/Summer collection is finally up! I have been checking their website since half way through January in anticipation.

The trends for the coming seasons are a little odd...it's probably the HUGE amount of bright contrasting colours that leads me to say that...because colours make me uncomfortable. I'm not as totally inspired and excited by the new lines out (with one exception), but the few items that I like I do really really like. The exception: Urban Safari is a trend...I am totally in my South Africa "need a new wardrobe" mode at the moment, so all sorts of safari colours and trends is making my head go a little crazy.

Eee. So, I have tried to timetable into my new shiny work plan 3 times a week to update this here little ol' blog, and todays will be clothes, clothes and more clothes. Because I do daydream about clothes a lot, I thought maybe to get me back into updating I should start sharing it with peoples. :)

PS: I have actually been doing some work! (Shock horror!) and I am enjoying it! I don't know whats wrong with me. :P

I do love Kookai

They recently, as in the past 10mins, put this gorgeous jumper up on their Facebook page (yes I follow them on Facebook, there clothes are just so me ok?) and gar, I want it. Why do all their clothes have to be so lovely looking? I love all their stuff, I know certain items won't suit me, but I still love the look...it's probably really unhealthy for me to stalk them so much, plus their opening a UK online store soon...hopefully I won't give in to internet shopping.

Time to go face the snow to buy some food. Lectures have been cancelled for the first time in my 2/3 years here, snow is deep! Am taking my camera. :D

Jumpers

I LOVE jumpers, not all jumper, I love big, cuddly, stylish jumpers...those ones that hide a bloated-just-eaten-a-huge-meal-stomach but still make you look skinny. I love snuggling up in them and being cozy. I love cozy stuff, and when it look good too, my favourite! (I am a tough judge on my clothes) I have been doing some internet browsing (as one does when work needs to be done) and have found two really lovely jumpers. One from Kookai and the other from Zara.

I do like those two brands, I tend to buy more from Kookai though because the shop is so much nicer in Geneva, the Zara shop is too full and crowded...although at Gateshead Metrocenter it's very clean and spacious and lovely, so when I do go there on the rare occasion I am very inclined to buy something. :P I want these jumpers!!!

In other news, guess who has an interview to study PGCE Primary at Durham? Me! :D I am excited...need to scrub up on the National Curriculum and other related stuff, but YAY!

Thursdays is for dresses.

I love the look of dresses, and skirts. I do, however, find jeans and trousers so much more comfortable...mainly because there is no risk of revealing certain parts of yourself unintentionally. SO! I have made Thursdays my dress and skirt days, meaning every Thursday I HAVE to wear a dress or skirt. :)

I've done 3 weeks so far, but have only started taking photos this week. I am enjoying it, and actually starting to like dresses. I tried looking for more, because at the moment I have about 2 that I can wear for daytime, but I am quite picky about styles and sleeve lengths and everything. I think I definitely like strappy sleeves! So I'm getting somewhere! :P

I'll be back next Thursday with picture proof of my dress/skirt wearing. :)
